Membership Benefits
Scientific Education
The quality of clinical and basic scientific presentations at our annual meeting highlights the significant contributions of our members in advancing our field. The Chapter presents awards for best oral and top poster presentations at the annual meeting. The Resident Paper Competition allows for a showcase of the educational programs at both Creighton and University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Leadership
Membership provides the opportunity to serve on the Chapter’s Council and Committees. From there you may advance to national leadership positions in the American College of Surgeons, including the Board of Governors and the Board of Regents. The Chapter also encourages representation at the annual ACS Leadership Conference and Advocacy Summit. Your vision will help guide us through changing times.
Advocacy
The College leads many of our national advocacy efforts. Your dues to ACS allow advocacy on your behalf at the state and national level. In addition, members may participate in the Chapter’s annual advocacy day at the Nebraska State House and meet with legislators to discuss their individual concerns and ideas.
Networking and Fellowship
Our activities throughout the year provide an opportunity for colleagues to meet and connect with thought leaders who can help them succeed in private practice and academia alike. Whether it is attendance at the annual meeting, contributions to a committee, intern orientations, State Advocacy Day, the Chapter provides opportunities for surgeons to talk to surgeons.
